Outlander notes: More4 airings; Great American Read voting

Outlander season 4

There are a couple of different Outlander stories worth getting into this afternoon, but let’s start with one that is focused around where everything began: The books!

If you haven’t heard just yet, the original Outlander book by Diana Gabaldon is included in PBS’ Great American Read, where voting is taking place over the coming months. Without this book, there would be absolutely nothing that we would have to write about now! There’d be no show. Be sure to head over here if you want to cast your vote; meanwhile, you can visit this link to learn about PBS’ voting rules and conditions.

Being included in this list is quite an honor when you look at all of the different authors included, whether it be George Orwell, Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain, Agatha Christie, or Toni Morrison. It’s an amazing reminder of some of the excellent writing that has come out in America and the work that continues to be published today.

As for some other news of the day…

The series is coming back to More4 – The UK network is the official television home of the series; to check out new episodes as they’re airing on Starz in America, you’re required to watch them via Amazon. It’s certainly unfortunate for viewers in the country who prefer traditional television, and that is why we’re thrilled that this network has officially picked the show up.

With that being said, you are having to wait a while in order to see new episodes — after all, season 2 is not even available just yet! TVWise has now confirmed that on Thursday, June 14 at 9:00 p.m. local time, the network will start broadcasting episodes then. Think of this in the UK as yet another way in which to dive into the show and prepare yourself for season 4. November may still be a good while away, but that is plenty of time to have a successful rewatch of many of the various episodes.
