Timeless deleted scene: Even more from ‘Hollywoodland’
Why didn’t this extended clip make it into the show? It’s for the oh-so-familiar reason of time. There is only so much that the producers can include every single week and with that in mind, there are things that are destined to end up on the cutting-room floor. NBC is only giving around 42 minutes, give or take, for each episode. As a result of this, it’s inevitable that there are going to be some things that we, unfortunately, do not get much of a chance to see.
What we almost wonder after viewing all of these is if there was a way in which viewers could purchase individual extended episodes with deleted scenes included — it’s a curious idea, but probably not one that would come to fruition because not all scenes are deleted for time purposes. Some are cut out just because of the fact that they don’t end up working in the larger scope of the episode. Some, meanwhile, don’t work as well from a technical point of view. In the end, the thing that we’re ultimately the happiest about is that the Timeless writers room kept these videos and we are happy to see them in the midst of the #RenewTimeless effort. It would obviously be wonderful if we knew for sure that another season of the show would be ordered, but we’re going to continue to hold out hope.
