Outlander filming update: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe spotted on set
All it takes is a simple search on Twitter to see numerous photos of both of these actors with fans and working on location Monday morning. That is something that Balfe first alluded to coming up in a new post on Twitter yesterday, following Sam completing the Edinburgh Marathon in Scotland. (Granted, we didn’t actually see any horses in the photos we saw — just the promotional one above from earlier this season!) We give the two a ton of credit for taking time even during their work day to spend some time with fans, especially since they’ve already got a good many commitments separate from this. Filming can be rather fun, but it also requires long hours and tricky conditions sometimes. (Luckily, the climate’s so much better now in Scotland than it was earlier in the year.)
At the moment, Outlander is firmly in the home stretch of season 4 with production winding down next month. There are more than likely a few different pivotal scenes that still need to be filmed, but you can start to see hiatus coming around the corner — and it is a longer one than last year, given that filming will not start back up for season 5 until early 2019. That does give the cast a chance to do some different things, and we already learned about some of their upcoming projects last week. We just hope now that Starz starts to give us some more substantial tidbits from season 4 — wouldn’t it be nice to get something resembling a full teaser in the near future?
