Summer TV Preview: So You Think You Can Dance season 15 is coming!

So You Think You Can Dance season 15Come Monday, June 4, So You Think You Can Dance season 15 is back on Fox — and we have to say that we couldn’t be happier. This is one of the best reality shows on television and while it doesn’t get a lot of press, it still continues to do what it does best.

What we especially love about where the series is right now is that it has almost entered the acceptance portion of its run — it knows precisely what it is and, in turn, is more than happy to deliver that to some of its viewers. This is a show that is really based, first and foremost, on quality dance and delivering memorable routines. It’s barebones at times in its approach, using minimal design and talented choreographers to deliver great performances throughout the competition. Its judges in Mary Murphy, Nigel Lythgoe, and Vanessa Hudgens are all bringing experience to the table, and the host in Cat Deeley is one of the best that is out there.

In the preview below for the start of season 15, what’s notable here is mostly just the stories. It’s not about introducing a new twist or trying to find a way to fix something that isn’t broken. Instead, the main promotional push for this season is simply giving you a chance to see performers who you haven’t seen before come out and make a name for themselves. Winning this show is life-changing in a way that winning few other dance shows is — it’s not so much about the money; instead, it’s about the opportunities that come after the fact. Winners here have gone to do everything from fantastic choreography to other dance-themed reality shows to even transfer into other parts of the entertainment business. This is a show about great dance, but it’s also about credibility.
