New Timeless deleted scene all about Lucy, Wyatt
As you can see below, this scene (posted by the writers room as an expression of gratitude for all of their support) shows Wyatt tucking in Lucy after getting her back home to safety at the end of the premiere. There isn’t a lot of dialogue here, but it’s sweet and shows the amount of care that Wyatt has for his fellow Time Team member. This was of course before the Jessica crisis, but we don’t exactly think that Wyatt’s feelings for Lucy ever really left.
So why was this scene cut? It’s not the same explanation as the previously deleted pool scene featuring Abigail Spencer and Matt Lanter — that one was dropped due for production-related reasons and changed to a scene indoors. This one was simply dropped out of fears that it moved forward the relationship between Lucy and Wyatt too quickly prior to everything that was coming up. We understand that … but admittedly it’s rather nice to see.
Hopefully this sneak peek is another reason to keep the #RenewTimeless movement going, not that we really think that anyone out there needed that much of a reason to do that. We’re thrilled that the show survived the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend, which was when NBC could have probably canceled the show in a way that allowed them to do that and then take off for three days. That’s what we were the most worried about. Them not canceling the show then shows that they are at least serious in their discussions regarding the future of Timeless, though by no means is it a guarantee that it will come back.
