Floribama Shore season 2 premiere date announced; teaser evokes Jersey Shore

For those of you eager to return to the south for Floribama Shore season 2, MTV has given you an official indication as to when you will have a chance to do just that: Tuesday, June 19.

This announcement was made in the new teaser below, which doesn’t actually give anything away inasmuch as it just evokes Jersey Shore via the duck phone and the gator phone spending a little bit of quality time together. It’s another reminder of the already-obvious link that is there between the two shows, which are similar in content but also feature people at various stages in their lives.

Entering Floribama Shore season 2, we’re seeing here mostly a cast that is a little more similar to what Jersey Shore was back following their first season. They no longer are completely oblivious to anything when it comes to fame and with that in mind, they have to get used to what is likely going to be a very new phase of their lives. Yet, we don’t think that any of these cast members (who are returning from the first season) are anywhere near as famous as Snooki or The Situation were after the first season of Jersey Shore. Our lament is that sense self-awareness is gone a little bit, you don’t get quite the same show — though it can still be entertaining. We know that for us, the second season of Jersey Shore was still one of its most entertaining.

(Speaking of Jersey Shore, the revival a.k.a. Jersey Shore Family Vacation has already been renewed for a second season. Both this show and Floribama Shore have been ratings successes for NBC, so we don’t foresee either one of them going anywhere at some point in the near future.)
