Siren season 2 premiere date hopes for Freeform drama
Before diving too much further, we should remind you now, first and foremost, that there is going to be a Siren season 2 coming up in the future! That news was first confirmed over at Freeform, which is a reminder of some of the incredible ratings that the show had over the course of the first season. While Siren didn’t necessary dominate in the numbers it was one of the most successful launches that the network has had in some time — it’s also refreshingly original. It feels more like a Grimm fairy tale than The Little Mermaid. This is the sort of subject matter that has been covered extensively by many other shows and films over the years which is why we were so excited about this show right from the jump. This is not your typical mermaid story.
As we start to look now on the subject of when Siren season 2 could come on the air, the simple answer at the moment is “2019.” There is no official word beyond that, but we certainly hope that the show would premiere earlier on in the year as opposed to later. After all, the last thing that anyone wants is to have to wait for too long in order to see what’s coming up next on the series.
One other interesting thing worth noting when it comes to Siren season 2 is simply this when it comes to the episode count — there are 16 episode coming, which more than likely means that we’re going to see them broken down into batches of eight episodes since this format happens a lot at Freeform. We wouldn’t be shocked if the show follows a pattern that is somewhat similar to what we are getting from The Walking Dead or another Freeform series in Shadowhunters, where you get an arc in the late-winter/spring and also one in the fall.
Hopefully, a formal Siren season 2 premiere date is going to be revealed at some point a little bit later this year and you can be assured that we will have that for you here as soon as it’s announced.
