The Sinner season 2 premiering earlier than you’d think
When is The Sinner season 2 premiering on USA? Given that it feels like it was renewed only recently, you are actually going to see the show returning before too long.
According to a new report from TV Guide, the show will be back for its second season this coming August, which is right around the time in which the excellent first season aired. Jessica Biel is still around as an executive producer, but it does not appear as though she is going to be making any appearances in an on-screen capacity.
Instead, the story here for season 2 seems to be based around Bill Pullman and his character of Ambrose as he ventures down the road into his personal past — he will revisit a place near and dear to his heart, where in turn he is going to have to take on an extremely creepy case. An eleven-year old boy has seemingly killed his parents but on the surface, it’s not entirely clear as to precisely why that happened. There was no apparent motive at all, which is probably where this season has at least a few echoes of the first. The obvious difference is that unlike the Cora case, here there is an obvious connection between the killer and the apparent victims. There’s still just no motive to connect everything.
Beyond just the presence of Pullman, one of the other primary selling points at the moment when it comes to The Sinner is simply this: Getting a chance to see Carrie Coon back on TV! The former star of The Leftovers and Fargo has a prominent role on this season, and you can head over to the link here to get some more information all about it.
There may not be a firm premiere date just yet, but once one is announced, we will for sure have it for you over at our CarterMatt Premiere Guide.
