A Very English Scandal episode 2: What’s next for Hugh Grant drama?
For starters, you have a rather-fine cast leading the way across the board. The story is led by Hugh Grant, but the show also does have flanking him the incredibly-underrated Ben Whishaw. Add to this the writing of the prolific Russell T. Davies, and it should be abundantly clear as to why this series is getting some of the attention that it is.
If you do want to get some more insight right now when it comes to what lies ahead over the course of episode 2, be sure to check out the synopsis below:
As Jeremy (Hugh Grant) gets one step closer to becoming Prime Minister, Norman (Ben Whishaw) demands that old promises should be honoured.
With Jeremy’s right-hand man Peter Bessell (Alex Jennings) having left for California, pressure mounts on Jeremy – and events conspire, leading to a hapless shooting…
Ultimately, one of the things to keep in mind here as we start to work our way to the end of the road here is that this is not a story with a happy ending, and nor as it ever been construed as such. It’s a tale of not only Jeremy’s actions, but also how those close to him react to them and shape a very important time in British history. We are very curious to see what the commercial attention in this series is going to be, though we imagine that the ratings as they are released tomorrow are going to be just one piece in the overall puzzle.
