Royal Wedding 2018 live stream, start time for Meghan Markle – Prince Harry nuptials
Let’s kick things off here with the official live stream for the wedding — it can be found, via the official Royal Family YouTube page, over at the link here. Isn’t it modern for the Queen to have a YouTube channel? Also, it’s somewhat shocking that she only has 235,000 subscribers (though we expect that number to grow between now and when the wedding actually happens).
Now, the part of this story that will make many people on the West Coast of America groan — the actually start time here. The YouTube Channel begins at 11:00 a.m. local time in Britain from St. George’s Chapel, which translates to be about 3:00 a.m. Pacific time in California. Consider this a reminder that the Royal Family does not care at all if Americans wake up for this. There may be some news networks who cover the event, but we’d say to just stick with the YouTube for the more uninterrupted coverage.
So why does the Royal Wedding matter to us as a TV site? There is a part of the media obsession that is somewhat curious to us but beyond just that, we do find it very fascinating that the British royal is marrying an American TV star who was working on a show in Canada at the time in which they first got together. Markle was a series regular on Suits for the first seven seasons, and she just finished her work on the show as Rachel Zane (pictured above) last year. This marked the end of her contract and it was assumed for quite some time beforehand that she would be departing the show and heading over to the UK. She has since formally retired from acting, but it is rather fun to trace her beginnings from a Deal or No Deal briefcase model to member of the British Royal Family.
In advance of the wedding, we of course wish Meghan and Harry all the happiness in the world.
