Criminal Minds season 14 will retain core cast
Per a report from Deadline, the core cast is going to be coming back, though if there is going to be a season 15 in the future there will need to be some new negotiations. That’s something to keep in mind when you start to get into the spring of next year. What’s a little bit crazier for now is the idea that Criminal Minds is not even certain to be on the air in the spring. It has yet to set an episode count formally for season 14, which it being somewhere between 13 and 22 episodes. As we describe in the video below (be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more like it), there may be a multitude of different reasons for that. For starters, they may based its future on the performance of some of the other series that are on the schedule. Beyond that, they could also just determine that there is a show out there they think would be a better fit for that timeslot.
Overall, Criminal Minds is one of CBS’ biggest stalwarts and what we want more than anything for it is simple: A fitting conclusion that pays tribute to the overall run. While it may not be confirmed as of yet if season 14 is the final one, we do hope that someone makes that decision before the writers get too far into some of their work. They don’t deserve to be blindsided by the series ending if that is what is decided, largely because they deserve a real chance to tie things up in the best way imaginable. This show has a huge legacy and that shouldn’t be ignored.
