Chicago Med season 4: Hopes for Manstead, Chexton, and more

Chicago Med season 3

Mrs. Carter: Is anyone else freaking about Manstead, Chexton, and some other Chicago Med romances after the finale?

If you are, I understand given that this was the sort of finale that would leave you running to the nearest tissue box. There were some (possibly) happy tears and plenty of sad ones. After all, the status of several different relationships are in jeopardy! For the sake of this piece, let’s take a look at a few of them.

Will & Natalie a.k.a. Manstead – At the end of the finale, Will proposed to her! This shouldn’t been a huge, incredibly-romantic moment, but it was somewhat muted thanks to the fact that it can at a time in which Natalie just learned the identity of the person Will was with earlier this season. He wants to marry her and that’s great! Most Chicago Med fans want the same thing, but don’t be shocked if season 4 picks up and she doesn’t have a ring on her finger. It does feel like there is some other stuff that needs to be worked out here.

Ethan and April a.k.a. Chexton – Is April going to be able to get past what’s happening with Emily at this point? There’s been a lot of conflict there already and I’m still not 100% sure if there is some sort of easy resolution coming for them in the future. Ethan almost needs to prove that Emily is someone who can be redeemed — how do you do that? It’s not like he is in control of anything that she does and that’s going to be a problem.

Connor and Ava – These two have a hot-and-cold relationship that is largely in part due to how competitive they are. Maybe Connor getting the Mayo Clinic offer makes things worse, or maybe it doesn’t really matter since they aren’t actually romantically involved at the moment. Either way, I have a hard time thinking that this ‘ship is completely disappearing off into the sunset. There’s a season’s worth of history here and it gives the writers something more to play around with.
