Ink Master: Angels preview: Meet Jessie Campolo, Don Hawkins, Chris Partain

Ink Master: Angels

Tuesday night’s new Ink Master: Angels episode is taking place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a place otherwise known at this point as the land of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It’s also a land of interesting tattoo artists given that Jessie Campolo, Don Hawkins, and Chris Partain are all coming into the competition with their own set of advantages and disadvantages.

As always, let’s spend a moment in this preview spotlighting some of these artists. You can also learn a little bit more about them below.

Jessie Campolo – She hasn’t been doing tattooing all that long compared to some of the others, but she has already proven herself to be one of the best new-school artists in the entire city. She also talks about wanting to be an inspiration as a mother both on the job and off. She is very talented, but with a new artist you do have to wonder if she is almost too green.

Don Hawkins – Don is a black-and-gray specialist who does a lot of great work, and also has an interesting backstory. His first loves were art and football, and after his professional career fell through he dived head-first into the tattoo world. Based on what we see here, we have a feeling that he could be someone who can make a name for himself.

Chris Partain – Finally, we come around to the most experienced artist of the three. Chris has been tattooing for a really long time and with that, he has to have a big leg up on the basis of experience alone. Yet, we’ve come to know over time that there is a pretty big difference between having experience and doing well in a tattoo show like this. The talent and dedication is clearly here with Chris; the larger question comes down to experience.
