ABC sets Take-Two premiere date; show from Castle creator stars Rachel Bilson
For starters, this show is coming from two exceptionally-talented minds in Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller. They are responsible for making Castle the amazing show that it was for the first several seasons of its run, and they understand how to properly weave together mystery with compelling, entertaining characters. There are certainly some elements in Take-Two that feel a lot like Castle, especially in that it revolves by and large around an unlikely pairing of people who work together to solve cases. This time around, Sam Swift (Rachel Bilson) is the main focus of the series — she is a former cop-show actress who, after a stint in rehab, is now ready for a comeback. In the process of that, she has managed to convince private investigator Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian) to let her shadow him. Soon after this, Eddie starts to realize that Sam actually has some valuable skills in this field, and as it turns out solving mysteries may be the perfect future career for her. Who needs the entertainment business?
Take-Two is going to premiere on ABC come Thursday, June 21 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, and while we don’t love the summer timeslot there could actually be a chance that it carves out a nice little audience. Just remember that Castle hardly had the perfect premiere window, either, and it ended up running for a long time. Take-Two needs to mostly just provide some consistent entertainment; if it can do that, we have a feeling that it is going to be around for a rather long time.
