Agents of SHIELD season 5 episode 22 (finale) spoilers: ‘The End’ is near
Below, the Agents of SHIELD season 5 episode 22 synopsis does at least offer up a few more insights on the series and what could be coming up in the near future:
Coulson’s life or death is the challenge the team finds themselves in, as the wrong decision will cause the destruction of Earth.
Is it possible that there will be a cliffhanger at the end of all of this? Even with this episode being written as a possible series finale, we do think that there still could be a little something left over here, just to ensure that there is a reason to keep the series going. One of the biggest benefits for Agents of SHIELD is that it is airing on a network in ABC that has the obvious Disney / Marvel connection. When you consider that, we absolutely still think that there is a reasonably good chance that we could get another season coming up in the future.
As for talking about the synopsis, it’s fairly hard to imagine Coulson getting killed off because he is the heart and soul of the show … but that may be a fake-out of epic proportions on the part of ABC. Beyond just that, though, it’s pretty clear that the world will survive. There is so much more coming in terms of the MCU — Agents of SHIELD is just one piece of the glue keeping the entire world together.
