NCIS season 15 episode 23 video: How will team move on without Abby?

On NCIS season 15 episode 23 (airing on CBS Tuesday night), the team is going to be faced with a rather difficult task. Not only will they have to determine precisely how to move forward without Abby and Reeves around, but they also have to continue to do business as usual since there will always be more cases coming in to solve.

In the promo that CarterMatt has for you below, you can get a pretty good sense of that, especially for McGee. He seems to be the one who is struggling the most and when you think about his history with Abby, that’s understandable. While she is still alive, it’s a very different change from getting to be around her on a pretty regular basis. We do hope that there are some opportunities to at least hear about how she’s doing, much in the way that there are still mentions of Tony every so often (although we do wish there were more).

As for how the show will go on, there is another trying case that is going to force Gibbs to get his teams’ heads back in the game, and he may also be somewhat reliant on Sloane for some of her help here. With her background she may be able to better help hone the team in on what matters in the moment, including helping them remember some of why they joined NCIS in the first place and why these cases matter so much. She may be moving into a role where she is a sort of motivational speaker, doing virtually everything in her power to focus them in on the job at hand. It’s not so much that their passion is gone; instead, it’s more that they are mentally distracted and still in mourning. For most of this past episode, it was almost as though many of them were still acting on adrenaline in the wake of what happened with Reeves. Having a unified event like that is a powerful thing when it comes to people trying to overcome great tragedy.

There is one episode still to come after Tuesday’s installment so we’ll see if the team can really get themselves together leading up to it.
