Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 revival could happen at Hulu
According to a report from Deadline, Hulu has certainly taken note about the immense fan reaction that has overtaken the internet in the hours that followed the cancellation. They are considering bringing the show back for another batch of episodes, with The Mindy Project (another canceled Fox series) serving as a template for how it could happen.
Logistically, Hulu does seem to be the right home for the show — they already have the streaming rights for it and beyond that, they have a reputation for delivering great comedy. Hopefully they can both find a way to bring the show on the air for another season or two and beyond that, find a way to get back the entirety of the cast. We know that sometimes, moving shows to different networks can come with smaller overall ensembles.
Beyond Hulu, there’s another potential home out there in TBS given that they air episodes of the show; meanwhile, their programming head in Kevin Reilly was at Fox at the time in which Brooklyn Nine-Nine first started up. He’s a big believer in it so you have to think that there’s a possibility of this.
No matter where Brooklyn Nine-Nine lands, if it does land, we hope that viewers out there take this as a harsh reminder that sometimes, you really do need to get behind a show with the utmost support. One of the things that may have hurt this show is that some viewers didn’t appreciate it enough when it was on, storing episodes on their DVR for the future and not thinking that their viewership mattered.
