NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 22 review: Who is targeting Pride?

NCIS: New Orleans season 3 finale review

On NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 22 airing on CBS Monday night, it really did not take all that long at all to signal that there was some serious trouble coming for Dwayne Pride.

At the start of the episode, the team felt very much threatened by a journalist who had come up with a slanted expose that suggested that Pride was guilty of a number of different charges, including a gross misuse of power. It was clear that someone wanted to see his head on a metaphorical swivel and leaking information to people like said journalist. To make matters worse, there was a murder that the team had to investigate.

Over the course of this episode the struggle for Pride was twofold: Trying to figure out if there was a way to save his own hide, and following that trying to figure out if there was a way in which he can get justice. This proved to be an incredibly challenging situation for Dwayne given that over the course of this investigation we saw him attacked, threatened, and hindered from his ability to do his job.

While it did seem like over the course of the episode the team had a chance to figure out precisely who was responsible for some of the crimes, they also didn’t have the necessary evidence and couldn’t get it out of him in interrogation. The problem here increased exponentially thanks to the fact that Pride was brought in by a US Attorney for an interrogation of his own before he could do any more work on the case. While he and the team were able to prove that many of the reporter’s claims were bogus, it doesn’t wash away the stink in Washington DC and some of the things that Pride is actually guilty of at this very moment.

The episode conclude with Pride learning that he is going to have a grand jury soon as a result of some of the things that he has done. To go along with that, he had to turn in his badge and his gun. Not only does he need to be worried about his job, but there’s a larger issue at play now: Whether or not he is going to finish off this season in prison.
