NCIS season 15 episode 22: What happened to Clayton Reeves?
What the network did when it comes to teasing out the character’s future was to be just about as cryptic as humanly possible. While there were a number of different promotional photos out there hyping up the fate of Abby, there wasn’t a whole lot revealed in regards to the fate of Reeves. This had us very concerned that he was going to be the character who ended up dying because of the “mugging gone bad”, something that was made all the more precarious just by thinking about the end of this past episode alone. We saw Reeves try to jump in front of Abby and if she survives, she really has him to thank for saving her life. That’s just the sort of person Reeves is — he’s giving, kind, and wants to help other people even if it means giving his life to do so.
Now, of course, we do have to address the question that was at the start of the article. Clayton Reeves is dead and with that, Duane Henry has departed the series. The moment that we saw Ducky and Palmer unzip the bag, we knew it was him and it was devastating.
Admittedly, we were slightly worried that the team wasn’t going to directly acknowledge that it was him in the bag at all — they didn’t refer to him by name, and there was a moment where it seemed like the writers didn’t want you to know if this was either Perrette or Reeves in the body bag.
Duane Henry first joined the CBS series at the end of season 13, when he was brought in right near the end of Michael Weatherly’s time on the show. Since then he’s been a regular, appearing in a good portion of episodes as the MI6 agent. He’s had a fantastic run on the show and we’re certainly sad to see him leave; yet, we’ve got a feeling that we will be seeing more of him in the future somewhere else. Let’s hope so since his talent cannot be ignored after what we saw here.
