Fargo season 4 premiere not coming until 2020
Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Warren Littlefield made it clear that due to fellow EP Noah Hawley’s schedule, the only thing that can be done is wait for a little while to ensure that the show is as best as it can be:
“We have a year, and we have a city [that season 4 takes place in] … The plan would be to go into production and start shooting in the fall of 2019. Noah has a lot on his plate. Noah knows when it is and where it is, and he’ll commence writing that after he shoots his feature with Fox Searchlight this summer. So in the fall, he’ll begin writing and with Fargo we generally have most of the scripts written before we go into production.”
So is this a bummer to have to wait such a long time in order to see more of the show? Absolutely, but this is the sort of series that has shown, time and time again, that it is worth the wait.
As for what we know at the moment when it comes to Fargo season 4, it’s rather simple starting with the fact that we’re diving back into the past. This will give you more of a foundational sense of the history of crime in this season, coupled with seeing some potential connections between this and the remainder of the franchise.
Our guess is that Fargo season 4 will premiere in the spring of 2020, given that this is when previous seasons also premiered.
