The latest Timeless season 2 episode 8 ratings plus Instinct, Deception
The latest Timeless season 2 episode 8 ratings are in and we certainly wish we could say the news was better.
Despite a pretty robust campaign on Sunday that included an open letter from co-creator Eric Kripke and also a promoted tweet from the show’s official writers room, the episode “The Day That Reagan Was Shot” ended up falling back down to a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, tying its lowest rating of the season. There are still other measurements that matter in an effort to keep the show on the air but following this, Timeless remains very much on the bubble and the picture isn’t any clearer after seeing these new ratings. Is passionate fan support really going to be enough in this case?
Odds are, we’re probably going to learn the future of Timeless at some point over the course of the next week or so. Stay tuned for more updates…
As for some other bubble shows – There is a little bit of good news when it comes to Instinct, which improved in posting a 0.7 rating and close to 7 million viewers. It’s the total viewer figures that are actually a little more impressive here and why CBS could opt to renew the series for more. CBS also cares about total viewers a little bit more than some other networks, as some of its viewership tends to skew a little bit older.
Meanwhile, Deception slipped slightly to a 0.7 rating, but we do still think that the mystery show has a slight chance of coming back. As we’ve pointed out in the past, it’s not exactly like ABC has given you shows that perform significantly better in the ratings this season. The big test here could just by seeing how it performs without American Idol leading into it … but the network may want to make a decision by then.
