The Blacklist season 5 spoilers: More on Samar’s kidnapper

Who is Samar’s kidnapper on The Blacklist season 5? We know that this was a question leading out to this past episode. Luckily, it does appear that we are going to be getting some answers on this particular subject sooner rather than later. Think, to be specific, the new episode that is airing on NBC on Wednesday.

In the closing minutes of this past installment we learned that Samar was kidnapped and was being taken away by a mysterious entity, someone who is clearly going to be a force to be reckoned with. Just in case you needed a little more hype on this particular subject, just take a look at what executive producer Jon Bokenkamp had to say on the subject to Entertainment Weekly:

“Samar’s been taken by a Class-A-Blacklister of super-weirdo-proportions … I can assure, never before have we put one of our main characters in a situation like this — next week is ugly, physical, isolated, and there are no guarantees she’s gonna come out of this. For real. This is as emotional as it gets.”

By the end of this episode, our hope here is pretty darn clear: That we are going to get a chance to see something that is gripping and dramatic in a way we don’t often see on this show. We know that Samar is going to be in a desperate position, and beyond that, it is going to put Aram through hell, as well. We already know just how much he cares about Samar and with that, we imagine that it’s going to be incredibly tough for him to wrestle with the fact that she’s in danger.

Of course, to go along with all of this there is another problem — Reddington and the duffel bag, which does appear to be in Costa Rica at the moment. No matter what happens, all of this is going to build up towards an epic season finale, one that could put more lives on the line and change the show forever.
