Supergirl season 3 episode 17 video: The big source of ‘Trinity’ trouble
Moving into Supergirl season 3 episode 17 airing on The CW Monday night, there is obviously a lot for Supergirl to be worried about. How could there not be, all things considered?
Based on the extended promo below for this episode, though, it may not actually be the three Worldkillers themselves in Reign, Purity, and Pestilence who are a problem — it may also be the fact that they are producing a solar eclipse that could weaken Kara’s powers dramatically. That means, basically, that she could be outmatched and there may not be enough firepower to help her. When you look at the team around her she does have some allies such as J’onn, Mon-El, James, and Imra. Yet, Guardian doesn’t have power, J’onn is dealing with a lot courtesy of his father, and while Imra and Mon-El are enormously powerful, at the same time they have a very specific mission in killing Pestilence. Is that possible? Sure, but there are still Reign and Purity out there. Trying to stop them could prove almost impossible.
At the moment, the best thing that you can really hope for is some sort of moral victory for the DEO. After all, this is only episode 17 and there are still many more episodes to come on the other side of it. We don’t think that the battle with Reign is going to be over anytime soon.
Following this episode, we’ll see if the three Worldkillers are all still standing and if they are, what sort of trouble could be coming for Kara and company on the other side. Beyond them, there is another clear problem coming in the form of Lena Luthor and some of the broken trust that is clearly present there at the moment.
