Chicago PD season 5 finale: Who are we the most worried about?

The Chicago PD season 5 finale is set to air on NBC Wednesday night and with that in mind, now is the time to really start speculating. Given the situation right now with Denny Woods there is a lot of chaos potentially coming, and over the course of this episode one of our goals is to try and sift our way through much of it.

Below, you can see three different characters we are specifically concerned about going into the finale — rest assured, there are no spoilers ahead! This is just all speculation based on where things are right now in the story. (Be sure to come back on Monday for the second part of our finale interview with showrunner Rick Eid.)

Olinsky – This kind of goes without saying, mostly because of the way in which this past episode concluded with the character’s life in jeopardy. While we think that the fine folks at Chicago Med / whatever medical team is present in prison will save him, that doesn’t mean he is out of the woods. The longer he stays in prison, the more likely it is that something like this could happen again. Or, it’s possible that he just ends up rotting away there if Voight doesn’t own up to some of his part in everything that transpired.

Voight – Hank’s future with Intelligence is in jeopardy and he may be at a point now where he is willing to let himself depart the force. Why? If he does that, he probably saves Olinsky in the process and maybe even Lindsay, even though she hasn’t been mentioned all that much during this whole process. (The Chicago PD writers admittedly have quite a challenge trying to factor in someone who isn’t even on the show anymore. If Sophia Bush was still around, we do have a feeling that Erin would have a larger role in the story.)

Ruzek – While we don’t think he’s in immediate danger, we know that Woods tried to screw him over earlier this season. With that in mind, we cannot ignore the possibility that this is something that he tries to pull off all over again. We’d still be sweating if we were Abby.
