Chicago PD season 5 episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Justice for Olinsky

Chicago PD season 5 episode 22 is far from your ordinary episode of the NBC series. This is the season finale, and with that there are going to be careers on the line. Obviously, the fate of Olinsky is a dire one, but beyond just that, Voight is going to be feeling the breath of Denny Woods on his back perhaps more than ever. All season long, we have seen a war brewing between these two “old friends” and we are now at a point where everything is starting to come to a boil.

Is this episode going to have a happy ending for the Intelligence team as you know it? There are no guarantees, largely because Hank is actually guilty of what he’s being accused of doing. This is not the sort of situation like we’ve seen in the past on other crime shows, one where someone is wrongfully accused and the team spends the whole episode trying to clear their name. He is guilty in the Bingham case and what comes next largely has to deal with if he can either find a way to sneak out of prosecution or if he, in turn, comes to learn that there is no way for him to escape this super-dangerous situation.

05/09/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : SEASON FINALE – Tensions run high as Intelligence seeks justice for Olinsky (Elias Koteas) after he’s stabbed in prison. Antonio’s (Jon Seda) loyalty is put to the test and Woods (guest star Mykelti Williamson) looks to take down Voight (Jason Beghe) once and for all.

The one thing that we wish we had before this episode is simply this: An official renewal courtesy of NBC, given that this would be a great opportunity to actually know if we can breathe entering this episode! No matter how this episode ends, it’s going to be tricky imagining what’s next for the series on the other side.
