Madam Secretary season 4 episode 20 video: Elizabeth meets a reporter

Madam Secretary season 4 episode 20

Sunday night’s Madam Secretary season 4 episode 20 is one that we find innately fascinating for many different reasons. What’s one of the biggest ones? Let’s just say it is the way that the show may be pulling back the curtain on the relationship between the press and an administration.

Obviously, if you look at things they way that they are today in the world, there’s a massive strain when it comes to these two worlds and one doesn’t want too much to do with the other. In the world of Madam Secretary there is some clear tension, but also some mutual respect. Maybe it is presenting a little more of an ideal but it’s an ideal that we like to think so many of us should try and strive for.

Over the course of this episode Tim Kang (The Mentalist) is going to be appearing in the form of journalist Neal Shin, a man outside of the traditional press pool who heads into the State Department for a piece with Elizabeth. She is trying her best to make a good impression on him so that he feels welcome and that he can ask her just about anything that he wants to. Daisy, on the other hand, is a little more unnerved about Neal’s presence, and understandably so since that is a part of her job description. There is a natural fear around journalists at the moment, if for no other reason than that they harbor so much power and they have the ability to blow up an administration with a few reports.

Watching the relationship between Neal and Elizabeth together over the course of this episode should prove fascinating. We think that Elizabeth wants to put on the perception of friendliness, but there is no guarantee here that some of his questions are going to be anywhere near as friendly as she would have hoped.
