Siren episode 7 ratings lowest to date (but still no reason to worry)

Siren episode 7

The latest Siren episode 7 ratings are in from Thursday night’s airing, and in this case there is certainly a little bit of good and bad news.

Let’s start here with the bad, just so that we can get it out of the way — with a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic along with just over 510,000 total viewers, these are the lowest numbers that we’ve seen from this series so far. Is that a bummer? Certainly, especially since with a new show you always want to see the ratings stay fairly steady or even rise over the course of a season.

Yet, that’s really where the bad news ends because as a whole Siren is still likely doing quite a bit that Freeform can be proud of. For starters, they don’t really have a whole lot of shows that are drawing more than half a million live viewers — that plus the solid demo rating should be enough to get the series renewed, largely because Freeform needs stable hits and this looks like it could be one. This is without even considering some of the viewers who are also finding the series via some other means, including DVR, On-Demand, or through the app. There are quite a few different ways in which viewers can be watching Siren and combining those numbers will make it seem like even more of a hit.

Sometimes in 2018, it can be a little bit harder to analyze the future of many shows than it used to be, largely because there are so many different ingredients that go into it. After all, you’re considering the demo rating (usually the most important thing) but also how much money you can make via internet streams, licensing, international sales, and all of that. There is a lot of money to be made for networks, but it’s spread across many more channels than it was many decades ago. That makes predicting renewals a little more challenging, but we do still feel fairly confident with this one.
