The Flash season 4 finale spoilers: First ‘We are the Flash’ hints

The Flash season 4 finale carries with it the title of “We are the Flash,” a title that is likely meant to signify the team-up nature of the series at this point. This is a show that is so much about all of these characters coming together with a unified goal, and they are going to need just about all of them in hopes of being able to take DeVoe down. He’s got countless powers and a sinister plan to reset the world’s intellect; it’s going to be up to Barry to stop him, but it definitely feels clear at this point that he is going to need some help.

For a little more insight on that, just take a look at the attached The Flash season 4 finale synopsis:

SEASON FINALE – Team Flash gets help from a surprising ally in their battle against DeVoe (Neil Sandilands). David McWhirter directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Eric Wallace (#423). Original airdate 5/22/2018.

That is not the most revealing synopsis in the world, but there is something interesting about the “surprising ally” part of it. Who could that be? There are a couple of unique possibilities to think about here.

Marlize DeVoe – At the end of “Therefore She Is” she made the decision once and for all to leave her husband, realizing that he was not the brilliant man she once loved anymore. He always did have a manipulative side, but it was never quite on the level that it is now where he kills without remorse. Even though she has left him, there is a difference between that and then also working directly to stop him.

The Mystery Girl – We know you will learn her identity in the finale, and while it seems for certain that she is Barry and Iris daughter / granddaughter / some other relative from the future, maybe the show will surprise us. Regardless, we do know that she is a speedster and with that, she likely will have an important role in season 5.

Someone else – Could the team find a way to extract Dibny so that he can be a part of the final battle? That’s certainly something that is worth thinking about. Otherwise, how many other possible allies can there be.
