The Flash season 5 Big Bad will be hinted at in season 4 finale

Flash season 5 Big Bad

For those of you wanting to know The Flash season 5 Big Bad, there is a pretty good chance that you are going to be able to find that out at some point during the season 4 finale.

Speaking via Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Todd Helbing noted that “most people that are familiar with comics will probably be able to deduce who the big bad is for next season.” That doesn’t mean that the new villain will be revealed outright in the same way that DeVoe was last season, but it is a pretty strong suggestion that we’ll be able to figure it out. That’s still something worth being excited about! We do think that it helped this season tremendously to know in advance who the villain was. We were able to dive in with that knowledge in mind and really see the journey of The Thinker play out. Overall, this may be the best season since the first in part because of that.

Also, the writers knowing this far in advance who their next villain is going to only help them build up this story. There are two major teases, after all, in the finale — the villain and, of course, learning the identity of the Mystery Girl whose identity has in some ways been obvious from the very beginning. Unless the writers are expertly trolling all of us, the purple and yellow lightning at the end of this past episode make it pretty clear that we’re looking at a descendant of Barry Allen and Iris West. That doesn’t necessarily mean that this said descendant is really operating as one of the good guys, but in between her enthusiasm and the level of care that she’s shown towards Joe, Barry, and many other characters, it’s hard to imagine her being sinister in any way. Maybe that is just a part of the big, elaborate trick here!
