If a Lucifer season 4 renewal happens, how can Fox promote it more?
There are some analysts out there who have shown some doubt about the Tom Ellis series returning for another batch of episodes. However, there is a little more optimism elsewhere — and we land a little bit on the side of cautiously optimistic. While the live ratings for Lucifer are not exactly great, it does have a loyal following and beyond that, seems like it could withstand some changes in a season 4 without losing any of the steam that it has built up.
Below, we’ve got a few different suggestions for the future of Lucifer, provided of course that it comes back.
1. Move in to Fridays – This will probably elicit some gasps given that Fridays are for many shows a TV graveyard; yet, we do think it could work there. This is a show with a loyal-enough audience that they would flock to it anywhere, and they could build more of a promotional campaign around having a devilishly good time every Friday night. We’d argue that the right thing to do would be to premiere the series after the World Series and air a continuous run from then until the holidays, and starting in January until the end of the season. Don’t have many hiatuses and end it before the weather gets too warm.
2. Promote Lucifer and Chloe together – The relationship between these two characters has been one of the main selling points with Lucifer from the very beginning and we absolutely know that we would like to see that happen. We also think that this could be a really good way to convince some other viewers to end up flocking back to the show if they stopped watching a while back.
3. Great guest stars – Find a way to get some known names on the series, whether it be via other science fiction / fantasy franchises or fun shows in general. That was one of the reasons for excitement when we first saw Tricia Helfer cast on the show — she brought with her a really great audience.
What can fans do?
Keep tweeting, keep creating custom hashtags, and make sure Fox knows in many different ways how much you love Lucifer, and how sad you’re going to be if it is canceled.
