Chicago Fire season 6 episode 23 (finale) spoilers: Boden, Casey, Dawson face the future

Chicago Fire season 6 episode 23 is airing next week on NBC and before even getting into what’s coming in terms of the story, there are some other things to be concerned about.

For starters, you are getting two separate hours of the show next week! Chicago Fire season 6 is bringing you a two-hour event next week that will tie together most of what you’ve seen so far this season … while also still setting the stage for the future. This is Chicago Fire and with that in mind, you have to expect cliffhangers. They will be different than the ones we’ve seen on the show already but still, a cliffhanger nonetheless.

For now, though, let’s go ahead and share the official synopses for these final episodes below:

“One for the Ages”

Boden takes a big step in the pursuit of a major career decision. Kidd becomes increasingly distrustful of Renee’s (guest star Sarah Shahi) motives with Severide. Herrmann has trouble bouncing back after a tragedy.

“The Grand Gesture”

Boden’s chances for a promotion are met with potential complications, leading him to take matters into his own hands. Dawson and Casey don’t see eye to eye on an important decision, while Kidd finds herself struggling to find time with Severide. Brett and Dawson respond to a tough call that quickly turns dangerous.

By the end of this finale, let’s just hope that there are some opportunities to see updates on many different stories that we’ve seen play out as of late — that includes Brett and Cruz, Otis’ recovery, whether or not Dawson and Casey are going to start trying for a family, and ultimately, seeing if Severide and Kidd can handle what’s happening with Renee Royce back on the scene. One of the great things about a show like Chicago Fire is that they give you so many meaty, interesting stories. However, the problem that can come along with this is that there are a lot of stories to wrap up in a very short period of time.
