Outlander season 4 filming reaches another milestone
To be specific, we are talking about the conclusion of yet another filming block! There are seven of these that happen over the course of a filming year, with the first six containing two episodes each and the final block (the finale) separate from the rest. It’s clear that production is nearing the end of the road now, especially when you consider that filming first began a whopping seven months ago in Scotland. The news of the latest block’s completion was first shared by first assistant director Nick Heckstall-Smith in a post on Twitter (which you can check out below).
So what has production been up to in this past filming block? Let’s just say that some of the most varied material has taken place in that span of time. We’ve heard about everything from fiery sequences to interior scenes to emotional moments to also the oh-so-infamous night shoots. The cast and crew has also continued to put up with the temperamental Scottish weather during what has certainly been a challenging winter and spring. The hours are incredibly long but in the end, the results always seem to be worth it. We know that there were many similar challenges last year, albeit in a different way given that the final months were filmed down in South Africa.
We’re looking forward to seeing the fruits of the cast and crew’s labor when Outlander season 4 does finally premiere on Starz a little bit later this year — with the end of filming approaching comes a time in which we anticipate the network starting to release a little more material. While there was a short teaser revealed after the season 3 finale and a proper season 4 scene aired on Starz earlier this year, that’s the last video footage we’ve seen of the series … and it’s been months. We’re more than excited to see what the network and the producers have in store for us next.
