Homeland season 8 premiere date hopes for Claire Danes, cast
Let’s kick things off, of course, with this simple reminder: There is going to be a Homeland season 8 at some point in the future. Showtime first confirmed this season back before season 7 even premiered! They have a lot of confidence in this series and with that, there was a clear desire to give the powers that be over at the network a lot of buildup for it airing.
Now, let’s come to the bad news: Homeland season 8 is going to be the final batch of episodes for the show. Series star Claire Danes first confirmed this news earlier this month, and that was followed up by some comments via executive producer Alex Gansa. The showrunner made it clear that the final episodes of the show are going to take place in another part of the world, and the entire premise here seems to be painting a picture of the show that is more global and a little more in line with some of the earlier seasons. This season was a good way to look at the country as it is right now; moving forward, there is a shift designed to make the series a little bit more about threats that could hit America both now and in the future.
Now, as for the Homeland season 8 premiere date, be prepared to wait for a little while. Series star Claire Danes is currently pregnant, and we cannot imagine the show kicking off production until the other side of her maternity leave. Think close to the end of this year or early 2019. We’re probably going to be waiting longer than a year to see the final season end. Personally, we actually think there’d be a certain full-circle feeling if the show was to come back in the fall of 2019, given that it originally started out as a fall series.
Do we think that there is a chance for a revival at some point beyond season 8? Probably; after all, Showtime is still leaving the door open for more Dexter.
