When you think about the state of things entering today’s Power of Veto Competition in the Big Brother Canada house, on paper things seem fairly cut and dry.
Let’s start here by setting the stage in the event you have missed anything along the way — Kaela has nominated Paras and Maddy for eviction, not that this matters all that much with so few people left in the game. If either she or Derek wins the Veto, they can do whatever they want with this week. These will likely remain the nominees if they win, largely because Maddy seems to be the target and there’s no real reason to make Will paranoid at the moment.
As stated many times over at this point, the #1 thing that Paras and Maddy should be thinking about at present is how to ensure that Will wins the Veto — if that happens, he can in turn help to guarantee that Derek goes on the block and goes home. Kaela would have to nominate him.
Beyond that, though, Paras has come up with a backup plan in Operation Make Kaela Paranoid. They want her to think that Derek is such a huge threat to win at the end of the game that she has no chance to beat him — therefore, she should take him out sooner rather than later. They plan on playing this up as much as they can. Is this a decent idea? Sure, but we don’t really get the sense that there is any way in which this is going to work. Why in the world would someone like Kaela take out her only trusted ally right now? It’s true that she wouldn’t mind cutting Derek before getting to the end of the game, but she doesn’t want to do anything that keeps herself from getting there. We think she is more likely and interested to take Derek to final three and then cut him if given the chance. She’s already vocalized her feeling that if she goes to final three with anyone else she is 100% in a position where she has to win out.
