Homeland season 7 episode 12 (finale) preview: The plan within a plan

Homeland season 7 episode 12

The Homeland season 7 finale is going to be airing on Showtime come Sunday night, and it doesn’t feel like we’re giving the show enough credit just calling it “intense.” Heart-pounding may be another great way to describe it. Gripping another. We’re gearing up for the end of the road when it comes to this current story and it will push Carrie and Saul to new limits while in Russia. There are some moments of victory, but also others of crushing disappointment.

What happens in their particular line of work is often this — you can have a plan, but beyond that, you also need to have an alternate plan that you can come back to in the event things don’t work out. You have to be able to pivot, and you also have to be able to improvise. You’re going to see a little bit of both from Carrie and Saul in this episode as their plans start to fall apart.

Back in Washington, do not anticipate anything starting to become easier for the embattled President Keane as she has to face the terrible reality that her administration is falling apart. Power-hungry individuals within the government are desperate to tear her apart and are willing to do what they can in order to do it.

Homeland season 7 is a season of corruption, of espionage, and of influence good and bad. It’s the perfect season for this time and it is one of the series’ best seasons yet. We’re not sure that we’ve seen episodes with the amount of intensity we’ve had as of late since the second season, back of course when Damian Lewis was still a prominent part of the story as Brody.

Even though Homeland may have been renewed already for an eighth season, all signs point to that being a very different version of the show. We’re not really expecting an enormous cliffhanger.
