Granted, it’s probably some information that you easily could’ve seen coming. In getting rid of Johnny, what Kaela and Derek did tonight was ensure that they don’t have anyone really standing in their way leading into the finale. Paras, Maddy, and Will are terrible in challenges and have been all season. They can’t win anything and they certainly didn’t win anything tonight.

Paras is already hating herself for making a move that we stated wasn’t the best. While keeping Kaela over Ali was useful in how it enabled her to survive the Triple Eviction, it was not a good move to ensuring she had a chance at winning the game. With Kaela as the new Head of Household, either Paras, Will, or Maddy is going to be leaving the game.

Is Kaela winning this Head of Household great television? Not exactly. Basically, it’s another reminder of precisely why bad decisions from houseguests can derail a season. A lot of the more entertaining players were sent home early and there was a big push this year to get rid of big threats. With that in mind, though, you set yourself up sometimes for situations in which you just see a couple of people steamroll. The best thing that could probably happen for the same of endgame drama is Will going home now, given that we don’t think he has much of a chance at some of the memory-based competitions later on. At least Paras and Maddy can study and give themselves a reasonably good chance at winning one of them. If they can do that, they do still have a chance to shake things up this season.
