Chicago Fire season 6 episode 21 preview: Rene Royce is back!

Chicago Fire season 6 episode 21 on NBC in one week’s time is going to bring quite a bit of interesting drama to the table, but what’s going to very much be the headline is the appearance of Sarah Shahi in the role of Rene Royce. It’s been quite some time since she last turned up and to go along with that further, Kelly Severide is not the same person that he once was. There should be something really interesting from an evolutionary standpoint that comes with seeing her again and having her be a part of his world.

With all of this being said, though, we also have a harder hard time imagining that Stella is going to feel that okay with having Rene around. Given that their relationship is still new they’re going to have growing pains, and having someone who reminds Severide of his past, especially when some of her motives are not entirely clear, may not be the best thing in the world.

Below, the Chicago Fire season 6 episode 21 synopsis gives you a little bit of a better since of her role in the story — and, to go along with that, precisely what’s going to happen with Casey and Boden as the latter starts to look more towards his future:

05/03/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : Lt. Severide is shocked when Rene Royce (guest star Sarah Shahi) resurfaces at the firehouse. Casey comes up with a plan to help Chief Boden in his latest pursuit. Kidd regrets a decision she made regarding Severide. Herrmann doesn’t see eye-to-eye with Lt. Colannino (guest star Andy John Kalkounos) over coaching their son’s basketball team. TV-14

We’ll admit that there is a part of us that is incredibly amped-up to see Herrmann take a youth basketball coach to task just because this is totally the sort of thing that he would do. This is the sort of guy who would get his emotions on tilt for almost anything when it comes to his family — there may be some humor that is present in this story but, to go along with it, there may also be a little bit of family drama depending on what these coaching methods are.
