Madam Secretary season 4 finale: Elizabeth will face her toughest challenge yet
“Night Watch” – Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) and cabinet members brace for the fallout at home and abroad as President Dalton (Keith Carradine) prepares for a retaliatory nuclear attack on a country that has reportedly just launched missiles bound for the U.S. 4th season finale.
Elizabeth has faced many challenges over the course of the last 4 seasons, but this episode sounds like it might her most challenging issue yet. Elizabeth has always been and is still a rational person who thinks before she acts so this current crisis is going to stress her out. Obviously, there’s going to be fallout everywhere after President Dalton declares a nuclear strike on a country that has missiles headed toward America. That’s not something you take lightly, and we can guess Elizabeth will do everything in her power to try and end this whole thing peaceful.
Now, the synopsis tells us Dalton will be preparing for a strike. With this in mind, Elizabeth and her team are going to be up against the clock because if they can’t find a way to resolve this issue peacefully, the U.S might end up going to war. This is a serious problem for Dalton’s administration, because they are already facing backlash for preparing a retaliatory nuclear attack. So imagine if they went to war. Would everyone support that? Probably not. However, again this is where Elizabeth can shine and where she is known to come alive by saving the day. She and her team come up with sometimes out-of-the-box ideas that work, and that’s what they need here. Dalton should also know by now that she will try and stop this whole thing, before dissenter strike, but we can guess he will be a little apprehensive.
No matter though, this episode is going to pack a punch and end with a bang (no pun intended). It will also set up how the writers will set up Season 5. Will there be a cliffhanger or an event that will change the lives of the characters? Possibly, but so far not much is known about the CBS political drama’s Season 4 finale other than the synopsis. We are excited to see what happens.
