Lucifer season 3 finale may claim a life; how worried should we be?

Lucifer season 3 finale

Just in case you needed another reason to worry leading into the Lucifer season 3 finale on Fox next month, here it is: We have almost a guarantee that someone is going to die by the end of the season.

In speaking on this subject, show executive producer Joe Henderson had the following to say in a new interview with TVLine:

“This is the biggest cliffhanger we’ve had. It’s bigger than Mom, it’s bigger than the wings… and it [impacts] more than Lucifer … Not all of our characters are getting out alive.”

Granted, there are a number of different ways to look at this statement. It could be possible that the casualty in the finale is Marcus Pierce, whose death would probably evoke a different reaction than if we lost someone like Chloe or Ella, people who have been a part of the series for a rather long time. Also, within the world of this show we would assume that death is not altogether a conclusive thing and that even if someone is killed off, there’s always a chance that some miracle would allow them the opportunity to come back.

Interestingly, Marcus is not actually the character we are the most worried about as a threat to Lucifer and his friends; instead, it’s Maze. Marcus seems to have turned over a new leaf (at least at the moment) and wants to win Chloe back and keep her. Presumably, he has already succeeded in the first part of it courtesy of the proposal that he gave at the end of this past episode. When it comes to Maze, we know that she wants to get back to Hell and is willing to do just about everything that she can to make it there.
