Chicago Med season 3 episode 18 preview: A shooting devastates Dr. Manning

Natalie Manning

Chicago Med season 3 episode 18 is coming on Fox in one week’s time and based on some early information, “This Is Now” is going to be a heck of a dramatic episode. It’s going to be harrowing in some ways, frightening in others, and personal from start to finish. By the end of it, you could see some people really tested and changed. This is what tends to happen in the aftermath of a mass tragedy like a shooting. This episode could put a personal face to the sort of terrible things that you hear about on the news.

Below, the Chicago Med season 3 episode 18 synopsis offers up a little more information as per what is coming up, including the fear that’s going to be present in particular for Dr. Natalie Manning:

05/01/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : After a shooting occurs during a block party at a local park, Med is overrun with victims that stretch the hospital and staff to its limits. In the midst of the chaos, Dr. Choi devises a new mass casualty plan on the fly and Dr. Manning struggles to stay focused when she realizes her son and nanny might have been at the scene.

It should really go without saying at the moment that this is a huge episode for Manning. She has to figure out in the midst of some of the fear and panic that is running through her mind. It’s probably hard enough being able to save lives when you think about the specific crisis she is being forced to deal with. Some of that is probably escalated further by the specificity of what is going on personally.

Ultimately, don’t expect this episode to be easy for any character. We’re just hoping to see some hopeful resolution by the end of it.
