Clayne Crawford responds to Lethal Weapon season 2 behavior allegations

Clayne Crawford

One day after allegations about his behavior on Lethal Weapon first started to surface, Clayne Crawford has officially responded in a new post on his official Instagram.

In this post (which you can see in full below), Crawford confirms that he has been reprimanded twice over incidents that happened in production. The first involved a situation involving himself and a director/assistant director, whereas the second happened in an episode in which he directed (presumably, the one that airs on Fox tonight). He apologizes for some of his actions, and calls reports that the show could face cancellation because of his behavior “distressing.”

Does any of this have a long-term impact on the future of the series? That is something that is likely going to be dictated by some of what comes out over the next couple of weeks — including the show’s ratings and whatever sort of reaction Fox gets from the public. It’s a little too early to say one way or another what the future of the series will be, but with this apology in mind it seems as though Fox will ultimately be left with a couple of choices: Keeping the show around with Crawford or canceling it. You could try to bring it back with a new person in the lead role, but with that you run the risk of blowback from Crawford fans and other Lethal Weapon viewers who enjoy the show as is.

In our mind, our stance since yesterday hasn’t changed: No one should feel as though they are unsafe or in a hostile work environment. This really should be up to the studio / the network to figure this out with the input of the cast.
