Suits season 7 finale: Will this be the last of Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle?
With that said, is this really the end of the road for these two on the series for good? This does feel like a good time in which to investigate that further.
When it comes to Markle and Rachel Zane, this feels relatively cut-and-dry. It’s hard to imagine ever seeing her on the show again given that by the time of next season’s premiere, she will be officially married to Prince Harry. She’s formally retired from acting so unless a reprisal is something that she really wants to do, it’s hard to imagine it. Even if she does want to do it we imagine there still being all sorts of logistical issues there.
As for Adams and Mike Ross, it wouldn’t be a shock if there is a return appearance at some point down the road. While it’s hard to imagine Mike ever being a regular presence on the show again (it’d be strange seeing him too much without Rachel), it would be nice if he turned up in an eventual series finale or some other sort of milestone episode. For starters, Adams is not joining any Royal Family and he’s sticking around the entertainment industry. Also, the relationship between Mike and Harvey Specter really is the foundation of the series. There are few better episodes of Suits than the ones where these two guys are Batman and Robin, working together in order to pull off complicated legal miracles for their clients. They’ve managed to save both the firm and each other at this point more times than we can possibly count.
