Ink Master season 11 premiere date hopes, theme expectations

Ink Master season 11

Following tonight’s finale on the Paramount Network, what are some of the Ink Master season 11 premiere date hopes? It’s possible that the future of the franchise is announced during tonight’s live finale, but if not, we come bearing some more news about it now.

Let’s begin this article with at least the necessary info: There is going to be a season 11 coming up in the future! This news was revealed a little while ago and with that, Ink Master: Angels is in the process of finding some other potential contestants all over the country. This show has already shown itself capable of bringing great artists over to the flagship show — Daniel Silva and Deanna Smith from this season were originally found over on Angels, as was a guy in Sparks who was eliminated well before his time.

Typically, what happens with Ink Master when it airs a season in the winter is that there is another one that happens in the late summer / early fall, and hopefully that is what will take place again here. It’d be a shame to have to wait a full year between seasons, even if we’re well aware that this is something that we do have to deal with when it comes to some other shows that are out there. Ink Master has just been able to avoid this off and on largely on the strength of getting good ratings and continuing to find a pool of contestants who are worthy of taking part in this competition.

Now when it comes to the theme for the upcoming season, what we’re hoping to see is something that is a bit more traditional. While both this season and season 9 had some very fun moments, we do think that they were somewhat lacking in terms of the iconic Ink Master water-cooler moments that we’ve had in the past. (To us, the most memorable part of season 10 is probably Mike Diaz having to tattoo Anthony Michaels.) One of the things that we want is for the show to scale things back and return somewhat to its roots, which is just getting a smaller pool of artists, no mentors, and having these contestants figure the competition out for themselves. Because of there being so many people the past two seasons we’ve had fewer opportunities to actually get to know anyone on an individual level.

Update: The Paramount Network has confirmed the premiere date and theme for season 11. Read more here!
