Ink Master: Angels preview: Meet Muse, Drew Shurtleff, Derek Sharp

Even though the Ink Master season 10 finale may be center stage on Tuesday night, there is another important thing that you’re going to be sure to want to catch: A new episode of Ink Master: AngelsThe series is heading over to Oklahoma City for this episode, and that’s largely interesting in that this isn’t a place you see all that often when it comes to art-focused entertainment. Also, Oklahoma City has really only been in the tattoo game for the past 12 years!

The video below gives you a chance to meet the three artists you’re going to be seeing tonight — here’s a quick look at some of them.

Muse – Muse is his nickname, but it certainly works for him when it comes to his artistry. Also, he’s a specialist in a really interesting, unique style that celebrates a little bit of his African heritage. It’s something that he embraces in all aspects of his life.

Drew Shurtleff – He’s been tattooing for eighteen years and specializes in photo-realism. His work is really good and really vibrant. Drew and Muse actually do each other, but they’re not rivals — after Muse was the victim of a robbery Drew did his part in order to help him out.

Derek Sharp – He does a lot of neo-traditional work over the years and he seems to be a little more adversarial. He claimed from the get-go that he’s fixed a lot of Muse’s tattoos over the years. He’s got two teenage sons and he is still working in order to give them their best lives.

What’s really interesting about all three of these artists is that they all bring something that is totally different and unique to the table that we haven’t quite seen on the show before. These are three very good, very cool tattoos — personally, we loved Drew’s tattoo and feel like it’s almost straight out of a comic book. It’s gorgeous. Luckily, the judges agree and it seems to be down to the other two contenders in terms of who moves forward and who is set to be eliminated before the second round.

Side note: Isn’t it nice to get a little cameo from Frank Ready at the start of this?
