Is Wynonna Earp season 3 filming nearing the end?

It really does feel like only yesterday (even if it was a few months ago) that Wynonna Earp season 3 filming was getting underway in the Calgary area. Now, we’re getting close to the end of the road.

In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Emily Andras showcases her mystery of Kermit puppet memes while sharing her series of emotions during the final read-through of the season. Wynonna Earp finales are intense, joyous, dramatic, and also potentially devastating so there is nothing about any of the emotions from Kermit that surprise us. Signs point to season 3 being so emotional just on the basis of seeing Wynonna’s mother, facing new threats, and then seeing what lies ahead personally for some of the show’s central relationships.

One of the things that makes the Syfy series so exceptional is that the personal stakes have been cultivated in such a way that it makes them almost as life-or-death as some of the professional stakes. Obviously the entire world would freak out if one of the major characters was in danger; yet, the same reaction would be generated if there was a fight between Wynonna and Waverly or if someone like Doc was separated from the rest of the main characters. The cast of Wynonna Earp is a family to many viewers out there and the connection that exists there is precious. Hopefully, said connection stays secure as season 3 progresses.

Of course, we are still waiting in order to see precisely when we will have a chance to see the story play out. We reported from WonderCon earlier this year that the third season of Wynonna Earp is going to be premiering on Syfy this summer. We’re hoping that at some point during said season, there will be a chance to get an early season 4 renewal. While this may not be the highest-rated series under the sun it’s one of the most beloved and has a community behind it almost like no other. No matter how devastating the end of the upcoming finale is, there is almost sure to be more story left in the tank.
