Siren season 6 preview: Ben, Maddie attend his mother’s gala
One of the major struggles for the mermaids right now is simple: The ocean is being fished dry and with that, Donna and Ryn are in serious danger now that their food source is gone. The government is basically being complicit with the overfishing because they want to bring the sirens closer to the surface for capture and study. We already saw Decker commissioning multiple tanks to keep the mermaids in complete with a water sedative to ensure they can’t escape again.
The Siren episode 6 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below offers up some more information when it comes to what lies ahead:
When Ben and Maddie attend his mother’s fundraising gala, an unexpected guest shows up and offers to put an end to the overfishing that’s threatening the lives of the mermaids in Bristol Cove.
Is this the most descriptive synopsis in the world? Not exactly, but there’s also no real reason for Freeform to give too much away right now. The strength of the series speaks for itself which is that it’s one of the few shows on the air that continues to surprise every week. What we will say, though, is that seeing Ben and Maddie at this gala could be interesting just based on the strained relationship that is there between her and Ben’s mother already. Could Ryn’s presence in their lives complicate things further? You do have to wonder that, just as you have to wonder who this “unexpected guest” is and what they can really do to stop the overfishing.
