Outlander notes: Latest on season 4 filming, Caitriona Balfe, John Bell

Wanted to get some of the latest Outlander notes from this morning? We’re back as we often are with more updates and this time around, they revolve around season 4 filming to go along with the latest from two of the show’s actors.

First, though, let’s kick things off here with filming. We reported yesterday that the series is doing some work as Pollok Park, and we do now have a slightly better sense as to what is being filmed. (Spoilers ahead.) Per the BBC’s Douglas Fraser on Twitter, it appears as though the series is setting up some sort of Scottish Highland Games in America. We won’t say too much more than that, but there’s the potential for this to be a rather entertaining sequence when you get a chance to see it on the show.

Filming will apparently take place at this location both today and tomorrow.  Following that you’ve of course got the weekend, and then there will be a good bit of interior work done early next week. We know this because Caitriona Balfe has already said so on Twitter, saying that she needs to be on set the morning after running the London Marathon for World Child Cancer. Let’s make it clear: Nobody is going to be more tired than she is on Monday!

Speaking of Balfe’s marathon efforts … have you donated yet? Visit her page if you want to lend your support, as time is almost out. To date, the actress has raised over 21,000 pounds — or roughly $30,000 US dollars — for the cause. Balfe’s co-star Sam Heughan is also running two marathons later this year for My Peak Challenge and Cahonas Scotland.

John Bell’s TED Talk – As for some other exciting news of the day, the actor behind Young Ian will be speaking at the TEDxYouth@Glasgow on May 31. Bell has already confirmed that the talk will be available online after the fact, so those who do not get a chance to be there in person will be able to see it. There is some more information available, if you would like tickets, within the embedded tweet below.

Congratulations to John! Doing a TED talk is no easy feat and he is certainly worthy of some praise for going through with it.
