Outlander season 4 filming keeps going strong, but where?

Outlander

What’s going on when it comes to Outlander season 4? We’re back with another update today, and for the first time in a while there is some noted work happening on location.

This week there has been some work done over at the Pollok Country Park near Glasgow, a popular park that has been used for scenes in the past — and understandably so. It’s a really gorgeous place with enough diversity of terrain to be used for a few different things. We’re not going to give too much away when it comes to what’s happening there … not that there is enough known about the scenes to definitively spoil in the first place. There isn’t too much buzz about filming as of late on social media, potentially because filming isn’t as accessible or publicized as it’s been in the past — including when it was taking place in Glasgow proper earlier this year.

The big news here is mostly that this is a transition away from some of the recent filming that has been at the studio, which is shielded entirely from the public eye. We know that more of this is coming at least next week, but there should be some more public filming coming before the end of the season. When you are in a location as beautiful as Scotland, of course you want to use it as often as you possibly can. Of course, the challenge that comes in doing that this season is that for many of the scenes, you do have to way to mask Scotland so that it appears to be America. There are still some Scotland-set scenes, but it’s a much smaller percentage than in the past.

Filming for season 4 is set to continue from now until June, with the series premiering once more on Starz this fall. While we’ve gotten a few assorted photos here and there, don’t be altogether shocked in the event that there is video footage in the form of a teaser before too long. This is around the time in which the network chose to launch the season 3 teaser last spring; we do recognize, though, that we’ve already gotten a season 4 sneak peek and also a small tease at the end of the recent finale, so the network may not be in too much of a hurry.
