Saturday Night Live books Amy Schumer, Tina Fey as final season 43 hosts

Saturday Night Live

While we’ve had a string of wonderful hosts on Saturday Night Liveincluding Donald Glover as host and musical guest for the upcoming May 5 installment, we’ve wondered when there would be some female hosts again. Luckily, the NBC series has responded with their announcement of the final hosts of the season.

For starters, Amy Schumer is going to be returning to host the penultimate episode of the season on May 12. This hosting gig goes along with the campaign that she is doing for her new movie I Feel Pretty, and she will be appearing alongside musical guest Kacey Musgraves. There aren’t too many opportunities to see country music on SNL these days so we figure that some out there will appreciate that.

We always do love it when former cast members come on board in order to host the final show of the season, and that is what we’re getting with Tina Fey on the May 19 finale. She’s obviously a brilliant host and she’s been more than generous stopping by over the years both as a host and in a cameo role. One of her best recent appearances was on Weekend Update Summer Edition, where she spoke as a University of Virginia alum after some of the chaos in Charlottesville (also, she ate a ton of cake in the process).

Hopefully, these episodes are going to serve as a great opportunity to tie up season 43 of the series as neatly as possible. This has been a very good season of the series as a whole, though admittedly without the Presidential Election it’s been a little more challenging for it to drum up any sort of substantial attention around it.
