Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 20 preview: Murtaugh, Riggs’ latest drama

What is coming up on Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 20? The first thing to note here comes courtesy of its episode title: “Jessie’s Girl.” That’s fun as a musical reference, but when it comes to the story itself it does appear as though there is a good bit of drama coming up. Riggs’ past is going to come to the forefront, which shouldn’t be all that big of a surprise given some of the time that he spent with his father previously. Meanwhile, with Murtaugh he has some major problems in his present — Riana’s hanging out with not the best crowd and with that in mind, he’s got to make some decisions that may not be altogether popular.

(We do feel for Riana on one level — it’s not easy having a cop for a father, especially when it is a cop like Murtaugh who likes to make sure that his opinion is injected into almost every single situation.)

Below, the Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 20 synopsis offers some more insight regarding just what is coming up:

After a mansion break-in turns into a homicide, Murtaugh and Riggs set out to find the culprit. Murtaugh and Trish question their trust in Riana as she gets into some trouble with new friends. Meanwhile, Riggs recalls his troubling childhood and finds a true family with Molly and Ben in the all-new “Jesse’s Girl” episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, April 24 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Hopefully, this is the sort of Lethal Weapon episode that serves as a great reminder of what many viewers out there love about the show so much: The relationship between Riggs and Murtaugh. Their partnership has been ripe with many a fun moment to date and we can only hope that continues now as we continue to move further towards a big finale. We just hope that at some point along the way, we also get a sense as to whether or not a season 3 could be coming up. The ratings haven’t necessarily been great so far this season, but we do think that it’s done enough to earn another shot.
